National Junior & U23 Championships

There were eight Ennis Track athletes in contention at the GloHealth National Junior and U23 Championships in Tullamore on Sunday. Jemil Saidi was 6th in the Junior Men’s triple jump with a jump of 12.40m; Jemil also competed in the Junior Men’s 400m, coming 4th in his heat in a time of 52.84s. SIAB Schools GOLD

Kevin Mulcaire has added to his considerable tally of gold medals this year with a great win at the 3000m SIAB schools track and field in Cardiff. [spacer style=”1″] A team of over 80 Irish schools athletes will travel to Cardiff on the 19th of July for the SIAB schools international event. They will be competing in a 21-event programme and against top schools athletes from England, Wales and Scotland. New 3000m PB for Kevin Mulcaire

It was wonderful to see the red and white of Ennis Track at Cork City Sports tonight. Laura Power ran her Junior Ladies 1500m in a time of 5:11.22, while Sean Collins covered the Junior Men’s 1500m in 4:06.30, coming in 8th overall. Then it was all eyes on Kevin Mulcaire in the final race of the night, which saw him knock almost 9 seconds off his PB for the 3000 m.
