Clare Athletes to the Fore in Schools International Multi-events

Last Saturday in AIT indoor arena in Athlone, three young Clare athletes and one from Waterford represented Ireland at Intermediate level in the annual international schools multi-events competition. They were Tony Odobote of Rice College, Ennis (Ennis Track Club) who was also the team captain, brothers Joseph & Darragh Miniter from Ennistymon CBS (St Mary’s AC Kilrush) and Shane Monagle of Tramore CBS. Impressive performances by  Ennis Track Athletic Club at GloHealth Juvenile Track & Field National Finals. Day 2 & 3 of the Glo Health Junvenile Track & Field Championships took place  in Tullamore last weekend which saw impressive performances by Ennis Track Athletics. Relay Record for Ennis Track Stars

  Last Saturday an Ennis Track U17 relay team consisting of Tony Odobote, Shawn Benson, Farouk Sobayo and the star of the team Gabriel Kehinde, won the National 4×100 relay, and also set a new National record of 44.55 seconds in the process. Gabriel Kehinde pulled off a double by winning the boys U16 100m B National Final in a new record of 11.45, beating the old record by over half a second. Daniel Ohiki, also won in the boys u15 100m final, in a very good time of 12.35.
