Hanrahan & Chesser take part in the 3000m Steeplechase this Sunday

The National Championships finish their unique event this Sunday.   In no way was Covid ever going to prevent this from taking place, and it provided some on your feet performances the highlight being the senior 1500m race between the champion Paul Robinson and minutely missing out Sean Tobin.  It has been a superbly ran event and congrats to all who organised it.  Credit to Cathal Dennehy, Gerard O’Donnell and others who enable us to keep us glued to the screen for this event.  Roll on the Irish Life Health National Junior T&F Championships (plus National U23 Walks) next weekend Saturday the 5th September.

All in Ennis Track will be keeping an eye on our two athletes taking part in the 14:20 3000m Steeplechase.   Mark Hanrahan making his debut at S/C and we wish him every success.  Rory has many years experience at the National Senior Championship with 6 golds and many other medals of varying colours under his belt.  What a great achievement and he will have his eyes on another one tomorrow.  Himself and Tomas Cotter of Dunleer Athletics will be reliving some memories tomorrow.

In 2014 the Clare Champion printed this on Rory’s 5th National title.  We wish him and Mark every success tomorrow.
