Track and Field finished its unique and tapered season at the National Junior Championships in Morton Stadium yesterday. The sun shone on all the athletes and all that was missing was the cheering supporters. The 2014 Irish Masters Track & Field Championships took place yesterday (August 10th) in Tullamore. There was a strong representation of Ennis Track athletes, men and women, many of whom competed in more than one event. Rory Chesser National Champion 3000m SC

Rory Chesser successfully defended his Irish 3000m steeplechase  title in winning today’s race with a PB of 8:46.95. Tomas Cotter (Dunleer AC) and Rory were clear leaders until the final lap when Chesser made a decisive move to win convincingly in a personal best of 8:46.95 with Cotter second in 8:57.65.
