Ennis Track Junior boys came first in the Munster Cross County Championship which took place in WIT, Waterford on Sunday last. The team comprised of Patrick Chesser, Sean Collins, Jamie Roche, Liam Naughton, Aaron Slattery and Stephen Maher. The Ladies senior team also came first. The team comprised of Imogen Cotter, Anna Crooks, Cushla Hehir, Marie Carey and Helen O Hanlon. Well done to all.

Celebration Night for Sean Whelan
Saturday 10th January saw a collection of Ennis Track athletes past and present and a number of committee members mark the occasion of Sean’s birthday and also the retirement (from his employment) of long serving Ennis Track member Sean Whelan. Frankie Garrihy – 1999 – Frank was selected to run in the World Veteran Athletics Championship in Gateshead, England. He completed in the 5,000m and the 10,000m cross country championships in the M45 category. All roads lead to Samokov in Bulgaria December 14th for Kevin Mulcaire and Dara Chesser. There was double delight in the club when it was confirmed that Dara Chesser would be joining Kevin at the European Cross County Championship. Kevin had gained automatic selection having won the National Junior Championship in fine style. It was a longer wait for Dara but his fine run on Sunday coming 4th must have impressed the selectors.
