Silver for Dean Casey

at the World Athletics Northern Ireland International Cross Country held at the Billy Neill MBE Country Park  in Dundonald which went off superbly. The talent was on display from all the races from Hellen Obiri, to Dean Casey, to Scott Fagan of Metro St. Brigid’s Athletics Club to Jamie Wallace of Mullingar Harriers Athletic Club to the Westport AC twins Freya and Holly Renton and so many others. Well done to all who organised this event and the volunteers who made the day such a success World Athletics Athletics NI Athletics Ireland. Well done to #TeamIreland on their performances today.
The outstanding team of the day has to be the Irish U20 men’s team following on from their success in the European Cross Country. An outstanding 13 points this team achieved yesterday, followed by the England team on 22 points, Scotland 40 points and Wales 45 points.
Super running by Dean Casey 2nd, Scott Fagan 3rd and Harry Colbert 8th.
A mighty performance by our U20 Ennis Track boys as well using this race as a preparation for their upcoming European Clubs Cross Country in Lisbon. Niall Murphy ran an outstanding race to finish 5th, followed by a great race from Mark Hanrahan in 20th, returning from injury, Dylan Casey 26th, Luke Griffin 37, Cian O’Boyle 38 and Thomas McGuire 42nd.
