Niall Murphy U19 All Ireland Champion

today in Garryanne, Conna, Cork for the 123.ie National Novice and Juvenile Uneven Cross-Country Championships hosted by St Catherine’s AC in Cork, in typical cross country conditions, plenty of muck, dry cold conditions, and a few long drags, it provided great entertainment for all who came today.  Well done to St Catherine AC for hosting a very successful day.  Well done to everyone who attended this event.  Roll on next week where we will be roaring for Mark Hanrahan and Dean Casey doing our club and country proud.

 

What an amazing group of athletes.  We had 53 athletes competing today,  claiming 2 silver and 3 bronze for the club.

U11 Girls

First up were the U11 Girls where 172 athletes took to the line.   The girls were fantastic and claimed silver in the club team on 146 points. Ailbhe O’Neill finished a super 4th position, followed by 23rd Sophia Treacy,  29th Aoibhinn Chambers,  90th Aoife Vaughan, 100th Ally Considine,

U11 Boys

Dylan Keane ran an amazing race to finish 2nd today in the U11 Boys where 160 super charged athletes lined up.  Super running.  His teammates Oliver Mannion finished 19th,  22nd Diarmuid Coughlan, 35th Eoin Keane, 46th Hugh Melody,  60th Tommy Malone.  The team secured bronze today in the Club Team on 78 points.

U13 Girls

Well done to Aisling Kelly who finished 25th, Katie Troy 39th, Caoimhe McNamara 64th, Willow Brace 73th, Saoirse Flynn 75th and Molly Moroney 119th

 

U15 Girls

Faye Mannion finished 11th today, a hard fought race.  Sophie Maher 32nd, Aoife Keane 41st, Emily Singleton 54th, Siobhan Healy 64th, Sarah Crowe 106th, Caoilfhionn O’Dwyer 118th, a massive performance by every single one of these girls to secure bronze for the club team on 138 points.

U15 Boys

Well done to Patrick Thynne who finished 33rd, Odhran Perill 43rd, Aodan O’Lachtnain 62nd, Kevin Noonan 63rd, Jack and Shane Killeen 98 and 99 respectively.  They missed out on a bronze by 3 points finishing club team in 4th psotion on 201 points.  Congrats to all.

U17 Girls

Sandra VADELL FARRUS was the first Ennis Track girl to finished in the U17s in 41 position, followed by Holly O’Boyle 62nd, Grace Rynne 66th, Lucy Power 70th, Nicole Keane 115th.  Well done to these girls for a strong performance.

U17th

Peter Farrell finished 5th, followed by his brother Simon 31st, Cillan Hayes 70th, Ben O’Halloran 71st, Iarlaith McElroy 79th, Well done to all these athletes some of them running out of age.

U19 Girls

18th position for Neasa NiAinifein, Aimee Barrett 25th, Michelle Healy 41st, Ruth Leyden 48th securing them 3rd position in the club teams on 84 points.  A team effort and lots of determination for these athletes.  Well done.

U19 Boys

Niall Murphy was a clear winner today in the u19 boys, keeping well clear of Harry Colbert of Waterford AC who finished 2nd.  Barry Conway also ran a great race to finish 9th today, running in the Munster Singlet.  Cian O’Boyle finished 21st, Colin Ryan 34th, Roman Fahy 51st, Finn Kelleher 53rd.  It was a strong performance by all of these competitors to secure them silver in the Club Teams on 65 points.

The Novice Mens

A strong performance by Dylan Casey who finished 6th, a 6k in a time of 19:42, Jamie Kelly finished 48th in a time of 21:06,  Seamus Nugent finished 119th on 23:01.
