Munster Uneven XC Championship Conna

Amid blue skies and perfect underfoot conditions, the Munster Uneven Cross Country Championships were ran off effortlessly thanks to all who volunteered and organised the event.  First off was the U9 Girls with 88 athletes taking part.  Well done to Lauren Ryan and Emily Noonan.

Following quickly were the U9 boys where 100 athletes took part.   Ennis Track placed 4th in the Club Team Points and Clare finished 2nd in the County Team Points.    Congratulations to Adam Rochford finishing 8th.  Very well done to Praise Jolaosho 24th, Darragh Sheedy 27th, Donncha Glynn 74th, Niall Crowe 95th, Gearoid Troy 96th.

An astonishing 185 athletes took part today in the U11 Girls.  Ennis Track won gold in the Club Team Points with 32 points, ahead of St Johns AC on 78 points and North Cork Ac on 110 points.  Clare took gold in the County Team Points on 50 followed by Cork on the 53 points and Waterford on 124 points.  A super performance and finish by Faye Mannion 2nd, Sophie Maher 3rd and Millie Watts 8th.  Very well done to Siobhan Healy 19th, Katie Troy 35th, Aoibhe O’Leary 45th, Roisin Coughlan 47th, Cara Lawlor 53rd, Sarah Crowe 65th, Courtney Flynn 67th, Rebecca Reid 107th, Rachel Kerins 112, Emily Frawley 117, Cait McCarthy 124.

165 boys took part in the U11 Boys Cross Country Championships where St. Cronans A.C. took Team Gold on 53 points followed by Ennis Track on 106 points and Grange/Fermoy A.C. on 110.  Clare took gold in the County Team with 61 points followed by Cork second by a mere one point on 62 points and Kerry on 156.  A sterling race for Ryan Kelly who finished 3rd.  He was followed home by his teammates Odhran Perill 23rd, Kevin Noonna 27th, Joseph Linehan 53rd, Shane Dilleen 79th, Ronan O’Sullivan 81st and Shane McGreal 164th,  Very well done to you all.

The U13 Girls saw a very strong finish for Clare with St Marys (Clare) AC taking Gold in the Club Team with 33 points followed by Ennis Track AC on 89 points and Waterford AC third on 112 points.  Clare took gold in the County Team with 41 points followed by Cork on 90 points and Waterford on 124 points.

Congratulations to  Tara Carey who finished a very strong 5th.  Her twin sister finished closely behind on 14th, followed by Mina Gomes 16th, Mia Healy 54th, Emma Moloney 67th, Cara Hely 89th, Alexandra Ward 91st, Sheena Kerins 92nd, Meabh Otuos 110th, Billy Jean O’Connor 116th, Ciara Frawley 119th, Maebh Kelly 121st and Grainne Leyden 126th.  Well done on great performances.

The U13 Boys saw 104 athletes take part today with Ennis Track Ac winning Gold in the Club Team with 44 points followed by St. Cronans AC on 82 points and Brandon AC third on 109 points.  Clare won gold in the County Team with 54 points followed by Cork on 88 and Tipperary on 105.  A fantastic run by Ben O’Halloran who finished 3rd followed closely by Harry Doherty who claimed 9th spot.  They were supported by teammates Luke Reid 15th, Promise Jonasho 17th, James Rochford 24th, Aodan O’Lachtnain 28th, Philip O’Connor 29th, Joe Mannion 33rd, Sean O’Loughlin 46th, Cillian Hayes 50th Oisin Glynn 51st Jack Dilleen 58th.  Congratulations to you all.

Next up was the U15 Girls where a determined Grace Rynne finished 7th place in a super race.  She fought every step of the way against a mighty Leevale team.  Very well done Grace.  Ennis Track finished 4th on 105 points behind Leevale AC on 17 points, Youghal AC on 58 points and Carraig Na Bhfear 3rd on 59 points.  Clare finished 2nd in the County Team with 125 points behind Cork on 21 points and ahead of Tipperary on 153 points.

Well done to Grace’s Teammates Ellen Mannion 24th, Holly O’boyle 27th, Nicole Keane 30th, AvrilLillis 32nd, Lucy Power 35th, Michelle Healy 44th, Alma Griffin 46th, Mollie Pike 51st, Aimee Barrett 59th, Jodie Watts 66th.

In the U15 Boys Ennis Track were placed 5th in the Club Team on 153 points, ahead of 1st Nenagh Olympic AC on 38 points, 2nd Liscarroll AC on 123, 3rd Carraig Na Bhfear Ac on 128, 4th Waterford AC on 131.  Clare finished 3rd on the County Team with 155 points, behind Tipperary 2nd on 46 points and Cork 1st on 42 points.  Well done to Cillian McElroy 22nd, Eoin Lahiffe 28th, Iarlaith McElroy 44th and Ronan Fahy 59th.

Aimee Hayde finished 1st in the U17 Girls race followed by Emma Landers 2nd and our very own Neasa NiAinifein 3rd, a super performance by her.  She was followed closely by Roisin Cahill who ran a great race to finish 8th.  Their teammates Eva Carey finished 15th, Carla Griffin 16th, Roise NiLactnain 26th, Katie Arthur 37th helped Ennis Track win gold in the Club team on 42 points followed by Youghal Ac 2nd on 70 points and West Muskerry Ac on 3rd on 141.  Clare finished 2nd on the County Team with 91 points behind Cork 1st on 57 points.

The lowest Team points today went to the U17 Ennis Track Boys on 14 points – a massive achievement by each and everyone.  They were followed by Waterford Ac on 60 and Leevale AC 3rd on 66 points.  Clare won gold on 35 points followed by Cork on 70 and Waterford on 90 points.

Dean Casey is the U17 Boys Munster Champion followed in 2nd place by his twin brother Dylan Casey, Mark Hanrahan 4th and Niall Murphy 7th.  There were 6 Clare Athletes in the top 12 spots, Luke Griffin Fergus AC 10th and Barry Conway 11th.   Ennis Track U17 Boys Gold Teammates were Matthew Power 17th, Cian O’Boyle 21st, Colin Ryan 28th and Finn Kelleher 29th.  A fantastic run by each of these athletes, well done on your fantastic achievement.
