Gold for St Flannans at the XC Championship

It was perfect conditions yesterday at Clongowes Wood College leading to what turned out to be an exciting day in individual and team events.  Huge thanks goes to the coaches Pat Hogan, Marie Roche, Ita Hanrahan and Ger Casey for their commitment and encouragement.   St. Flannans were the happiest team heading home yesterday when they secured Gold for the Junior Boys 3500m by a mere 1 point pipping St Malachy’s of Belfast.  Congratulations to Niall Murphy and Conor Faulkner of Ennis Track and teammates Thomas McGuire, Cian O’Boyle and, Colm Kileen.

Then in outstanding style in the Intermediate Boys they won Gold in the 5000m with 45 points securing them the shield for the lowest point team of the day.  Congrats to Dean Casey 2nd and Dylan Casey 5th, ( who both go on to represent Ireland in the Santry in two weeks time) to Mark Hanrahan, Jack Power of Ennis Track and their teammates Luke Griffin, Barry Conway and Jack Warren.

Congratulations to Colaiste Muire who came 3rd in the Minor Girls our very own Ellen Mannion, and teammates Louise O’Mahoney, Aimee Barrett, Michelle Healy and Riona Healy.

Well done to Neasa NiAinfein who finished a very strong 7th in the Junior Girls for Gaelcholáiste an Chláir,  she will go on to represent Ireland in two weeks time in Santry.
