Athlone and Nenagh – A busy weekend ahead & it’s off to a great start

Kicking off today in Athlone were guest races alongside the national league.  Rory Chesser ran 8.21.49 to finish 4th and Damien landers 8.26.72 to finish 6th for the 3000m.   Rianne McHugh won her race in 2.19.85 for the 800m and Patrick Chesser did 4.20.22 for the 1500m.  Tomorrow the Junior and U23 Championships take place.  Good luck to all the athletes competing. Clare A.A.I Indoor Track and Field Championships take place in Nenagh tomorrow.  Safe travels, have fun and best of luck to all competing.

Well Done To All our Athletes at North Munster Schools XC

In Salesian College, Pallaskenry amid the mud, sun, rain, wind and hail the 2018 North Munster Schools Cross Country were held.  Congratulations to all our Ennis Track athletes who repesented their respective schools, not to mention their coaches who got them ready and able.  Results of the day will be posted shortly. Double Gold at National Indoor Combined Events

  The Irish Life Health National Indoor Combined Events produced double gold for Ennis Track today in Athlone.  William Bello in his first All-Ireland multi-event earned Gold after a very strong finish in the 800m at the end of a long day of events.  Ava Rochford continued her successful career to also win Gold just shy of a championship best performance. Congratulations Avril Lillis

At the recent Clare Community Games Finals, Avril Lilis finished 4th place in the U13 girls cross country.   Avril is now on the U13 Clare team for the National Finals in May which takes this year in U.L.   Congratulations to the silver team medalists in the Community Games U13 Cross Country competition representing Doora Barefield.  Our very own Ennis Track athletes Avril Lillis, Ciara Frawley and Sheena Kerins.   The 4th team member is Sophie Torpey who finished in a very strong position of 7th place.

2018 Munster Junior, U23 & Juvenile Pentathlon Indoor Championships

The Junior & U23 + Juvenile Pentathlon Indoor Championships took place this weekend in Nenagh Indoor Stadium. There was a great attendance from all over the province and Ennis Track had a strong team of athletes in contention on both days. Results are as follows: Day 1, Saturday 6th January     Ciara Frawley came ninth in the multi events U12  race. Lucy Power came eleventh in the multi events U13 race.
