All Ireland Glory for Ennis Track Athletes

Super performances by all our Ennis Track Athletes today in Abbotstown for the Irish Life Health National Senior & Junior Cross Country Championships.  Our athletes did their club proud, their county proud and their province proud, what more could you ask of them.  Joe Deasy thank you so much for kindly supplying lunches for our athletes and taking these fantastic pictures.

Our U12 Girls of Tara Carey 36, her twin sister Clodgah Carey 45, Mina Gomes 61, Emma Moloney 89, Tori Deasy 115 and Sheena Kerins 138 ran a super race.  Their team came 6th overall.  Tara, Clodagh and Mina won Silver for their county.  Congratulations to them all.

Next the U12 Boys raised all our voices.  Ben O’Halloran ran a blistering race to finish 5th overall, Promise Jolaosho 44, Joe Mannion 46, Luke Reid 76, James Rochford 91 and Harry Doherty 120.  These boys all won silver for their club team.   Clare came 5th overall in the County Team Points.  Ben O’Halloran also won a bronze medal for the Munster Team.  Well done to these super lads.

Our U14 Girls and Boys came away without medals but they gave it their absolute best and we could not be prouder.  Well done to Avril Lillis, Ellen Mannion, Molly Pike, Grace Rynne, Nicole Keane, Alma Griffin and Thomas McGuire, Cillian McElroy, Iarlaith McElroy and Eoin Lahiffe.

Well done to our U16 girls of Carla Griffin, Eva Carey, Roise NiLachtnain, Aisling Healy.  Congratulations to Neasa Niainifein finishing 10th overall and winning bronze for Munster, a super performance by her.

Ennis Track has a 2018 U16 Boys All Ireland Champion in Dean Casey.  He ran an outstanding race and just could not be beaten on the day.  His twin brother Dylan did not let him get too far ahead and came 5th, Mark Hanrahan kept the pressure up by finished 12th.  A surreal performance by them all.   The icing on the cake was a Gold Medal for Ennis Track on 106 points.  A Golden Team made up of Conor Shanahan, Matthew Power and Colin Ryan.   Dean, Dylan and Mark brought home Bronze Medals for their County and Munster Team.

Laura Healy just missed out on an individual medal coming 13th overall, but won a Bronze medal for Munster.  Congratulations to Laura and Leah O’Neill who narrowly missed out on a Bronze Munster medal.

Jamie Kelly finished 21st and won a Silver medal for the Munster Team.  Well done to him and Padraig Cahill finishing 45th.

Our Junior Women won Bronze for their club.  Congratulations to Laura Healy 25th,  Alex O’Neill 35, Leah O’Neill 41 and Ella Doherty 47 on their performances.

Next up were our Junior Men who finished 6th overall.  Well done to Donal Devane 35, Conor Devane 36, Jamie Kelly 39 and Padraig Cahill 73.

The last but definitely not least race of the day was our Senior Men.  Damien Landers finished an outstanding 6th overall.  Damien,  Dara Chesser 48 and Rory Chesser 49 won Bronze medals for their County.  Also running was Patrick Chesser 64, Kevin Chesser 68th and Liam Naughton 122.  Well done to them all.
