The Munster Indoor Track and Field Championships (U9–U12) took place this weekend in Nenagh Indoor Stadium. There was a great attendance from all over the province and Ennis Track had a strong team of athletes in contention on both days. Results are as follows:
Day 1, Saturday 4th February
- Faye Mannion won a silver medal in the U9 girls 300-m race with a wonderful run of 58.30 s.
- Leo Johnson had a fantastic day, winning gold in the U11 boys 60-dash in a superb time of 9.06 s and also winning the long jump with a leap of 3.89 m.
- James Rochford was sixth in the U10 boys long jump with a jump of 3.42 m.
- Mollie Pike was seventh in the U12 600m with a great run of 2:03.20.
- Also acquitting themselves very well on Saturday were Tori Deasy, Ella Deasy, Nicole Keane, and Cillian Hayes.
Day 2, Sunday 5th February
- James Rochford came 3rd in boys U10 500 m in a time of 1:37.75.
- Ben O’Halloran was seventh in the U11 boys 600 m with a time of 1:58.56.
- Also running for Ennis Track on Sunday were Faye Mannion, Ciara Frawley, Esther Olaye, Amy Ryan, Mollie Pike, Eoin Ryan, Joe Mannion and Cillian Hayes. Well done to all of our athletes!
