Kevin Mulcaire and Rory Chesser showed their class in a highly stacked and extremely competitive 5k in Armagh. The two men made the long trip up to Armagh and it paid dividends, as they were the first two Irish men home. Kevin ran a fantastic race to finished 15th in a time of 14.14. This is no small feat as he competed against seasoned senior athletes from all over Europe, but as usual this does not even pose a challenge to the courageous young man. Rory was very close to his training partner in 20th place in a time of 14.23 and did a lot of the front running in the first 1km and a half. Rory running like a man possesed until the very last metre. The two men said it was an extremely tough but  hugely enjoyable event. They did their club and country very proud.

Below is a link to the results of the day and a YouTube video of the race to give you a real feel for the ferocity of the occasion.
