Congratulations to the Ennis Track athletes who competed at the first day of the National Juvenile Championships in Tullamore this weekend.
- In the Boys U12 Long Jump, Colin Ryan finished 7th overall with a jump of 4.04m.
- In the Girls U13 600m, Ailbhe Doherty won gold in a time of 1:41.79.
- Tony Odubote easily qualified for the final of the U16 100m hurdles with a first place in his heat (in 13.94) and proceeded to win gold in the final in 13.34sec.
- Jamie Roche won gold in the U17 2000m steeplechase in a time of 6:26.66 (a 10s lead!).
- Sean Collins was 2nd in the U19 3000m steeplechase in a time of 9:51.01.
- There was disappointment for Ben Deasy in the U15 800m, who would have qualified for the final, but was judged to have cut in too soon and disqualified.
