The Ennis Track Club and the Barry Coughlan memorial open sports were held at the Lees Road Sports Complex on Sunday May 19th. There was a fine turnout of Juvenile athletes from Limerick AC, Roscommon AC, St Marys Rathkeale, Moycarkey, Nenagh AC, Dooneen AC, Limerick AC and all Clare Clubs. It was a fine sunny afternoon and all races were very well contested.
Becky Coughlan Ennis Track was a very impressive winner of the Barry Coughlan Memorial Ladies Mile in 5:41.85, with Elaine Shannon Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare taking second (5:49.86) and third Zelma Power Ennis Track (5:53.03). The Barry Coughlan Mens Mile was a well contested race and Kevin O’Dwyer Ennis Track sprinted down the home straight to captured the title in 5:01.48 and a close second Stephan Maher Ennis Track (5:03.53) and third Frank Landy Ennis Track (5:04.00). All prizes were presented by the Coughlan Family.
