Ennis Track Club and East Cork contested a titanic team battle over 10k for the right to be crowned Munster Senior mens club cross country champions for 2017. Held in Galbally Co Tipperary over a testing flat course, the race was not decided until the final 2k.
After 5k East Cork held a 2 point advantage with their scoring four – 2nd, 3rd , 9th and 10th to Ennis Tracks scoring four – 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th.
A big push from Damien Landers, Karl Fitzmaurice, and Rory Chesser, swung the title for the second year in a row to Ennis Track club. Damien finishing 3rd, Karl 4th and Rory 5th. Patrick Chesser had a powerful last 4k to move up to 8th place securing a 7 point victory over East Cork .
Dara Chesser, Liam Naughton and Kevin Chesser were the other members of the squad.
