The Junior & U23 + Juvenile Pentathlon Indoor Championships took place this weekend in Nenagh Indoor Stadium. There was a great attendance from all over the province and Ennis Track had a strong team of athletes in contention on both days. Results are as follows:
Day 1, Saturday 6th January
- Ciara Frawley came ninth in the multi events U12 race.
- Lucy Power came eleventh in the multi events U13 race.
- Ava Rochford won by a big margin -over 400pts. She set a new Munster record in the high jump 1.57. Her shot was excellent st 11.42. Pb of 4.54m in long jump & 10.10 in hurdles. She just missed out on record for pentathlon – she was well on course but a big collision at start of 800m ended up costing her lot of time. She held her ground & didn’t fall but stopped to help the other girls up!!
- Shawn Benson came 3rd in the 60m 7.25 and 2nd in the 200m in 23.45.

- William Bello finished fourth day in U14 boys.
