The Munster Junior Track & Field Championships were held today (Sunday 22nd April) in Waterford sports complex. Ennis Track athletes were on top form, bringing home 5 medals among them
- In the women’s U19 3000m, Grainne Kelly (17) won silver in a time of 11:43.19.
- In the men’s U19 100-m dash, Shawn Benson (17) narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing 4th in 11.74 s.
- Tony Odubote (17) won gold in the men’s U19 200 m in a time of 22.69 s, while clubmate Shawn Benson was not far behind in 5th place with a time of 23.46 s.
- The success didn’t end there for Tony Odubote and he went on to win a second gold medal in the U19 400-m race with a time of 51.74 s.
- Finally, the U19 800 m saw two Ennis Track athletes on the podium, with a gold medal for Ben Deasy (17) in a time of 2:05.68 and bronze for James McGuire (17) in a time of 2:09.81.
