The 123.ie National Cross Country XC Championships were held at Rosapenna Hotel & Golf Club, Co Donegal on Sunday the 20th of November and what an day it was.\u00a0 It was an absolute joy to be there, Cranford AC hosted the event and it was evident to see that\u00a0 the whole community had banded together to ensure the effortless running of this magnificent event.\u00a0 Thank you to everybody involved.\u00a0 The atmosphere was electric and the supporters cheered the winners right back to the last person running.<\/p>\n

Massive thanks to everyone involved in the club for arranging and ensuring the safe travel, accommodation, food and transport to the race and home, this takes huge organisation and without it the day would not have been as successful.\u00a0 To everyone of the coaches thank you for all your time and hard work throughout the season getting these amazing athletes ready for this event.\u00a0 Without you the club would definitely not be the club it is today.<\/p>\n

To the athletes who traveled and took part in Rosapenna, we are extremely proud of every single one of you.\u00a0 Being at an All Ireland is a huge achievement and one that needs to be remembered, you worked hard all season and taking part with the best of the best in Ireland is massive.\u00a0 Congratulations.<\/p>\n

Results Junior Men<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

What an amazing bunch of athletes, an absolute joy to watch each one of them run.\u00a0 A lot was riding on this race, the top 3 spots an automatic ticket to the European U20 XC in Turin in December and also the first team representing their club in 2023 European Clubs in Spain.\u00a0 There was 272 athletes lined up when the gun fired and the pace was set at a blistering pace.\u00a0 The Ennis Track boys showed their skill, determination and talent.\u00a0 Dean Casey and Nick Griggs ran as shadows of each other pushing the race and a joy to think that this is what Ireland will have wearing green in a few weeks time.\u00a0 Mark Hanrahan ran a top class race, driving up hills and picking off man after man and held on with sheer grit to finish an outstanding 4th place, superb performance.\u00a0 Their teammates Niall Murphy 8th, Barry Conway 18th, Cian O’Boyle 25th, Dylan Casey 31st, Peter Farrell 54th, Colin Ryan and Luke Griffin all gave their absolute best and there was not a team in Ireland that could come near them.\u00a0 They won the coveted gold spot in an astonishing 32 points, amazing work from all.<\/p>\n

Gold for the U14 Girls Team, a mighty run by the girls with three of them finishing in the top 12, they never gave up and fought hard to secure the gold team spot on 83 points ahead of Finn Valley on 150 points.\u00a0 A wonderful performance by them all.\u00a0 \u00a0Congrats to 5th Faye MANNION, 10th Sophie MAHER, 11th Aisling KELLY, 57th Katie TROY, 98th Siobhan HEALY, 118th Sarah CROWE<\/p>\n
