Celtic Games Triumph

Ireland won the overall team title at the Celtic Games with a number of excellent performances in Morton Stadium on August 6th. Ireland tallied 188 points overall to top Scotland and Wales on the podium. Tony Obubote was Irish Team Captain and won his U18 400m in 48.99 – a PB. Jo Keane won bronze in the U18 800m 2.15. Gabriel Kehinde and Shawn Benson were on the Irish Development Team. Well done to all – your club is very proud of your achievements!

Munster Juvenile B Track & Field Championships

The Munster Athletics U9 to U16 Juvenile B Track & Field Championships took place in Templemore on Saturday 29th July 2017. Ennis Track athletes in action Sophie Maher came 4th in the U9 300m with time of 60 seconds. Thomas Williams won silver in the U10 turbo javelin with a throw of 18.98m. He also competed in the 60m sprint. Nicole Keane came 10th in the U12 600m with a time of 2:10.84. Ennis Track AC Fleadh 5 Mile Road Race

Event Details & Schedule The Ennis Track AC 5 Mile Race takes place on the 12th August at 11:00 am. The race is AAI approved and the course is accurately measured (Jones Counter). HQ for the race will be at Lees Road amenity park where numbers and race packs can be collected. There will be a short warm up jog from the gates of Lees Road at 10:45 am to the start line at Drumcliffe.  The route will take participants on a looped run into the countryside before returning to the finish line…

National Juvenile Championships Days 1–3

Ennis Track athletes were in superb form at Days 1–3 of the National Juvenile Track & Field Championships in Tullamore, collecting no less than 13 All-Ireland medals including 4 golds, 4 silvers and 5 bronze, plus a new Irish record in the high jump. Our athletes in action on Day 1 Ava Rochford was 4th in the U13 girls 60m hurdles in 10.15s and won bronze in the shot putt with a throw of 9.55m. SIAB International Schools Track & Field

So proud to see our own Jo Keane and Ailbhe Doherty in their Irish singlets. Both girls, pupils of St. Flannan’s, were chosen for the Irish Schools team competing against their counterparts in England, Scotland and Wales in Santry at the SIAB International Track & Field Championships. Ailbhe competed both in the 300m and in the 4 x 300m relay, while Jo competed in the 800m. The All-Ireland Juvenile B Championships took place in Tullamore on Saturday 15th July. Results Ruth Leyden (U13) won bronze in the high jump with a jump of 1.30m. Avril Lillis (U13) was 4th in the shot putt with a throw of 7.28m. We also had three girls competing in the 600m. All Ireland Masters Championship were held in Tullamore on Sunday 2nd July. Highlights Ladies Mary Cahill (O40) won a silver medal in the long jump, was 5th in the 800m, and 5th in the 400m. Gold at Interprovincial Tailteann Games

The Tailteann Schools interprovincial athletics were held in Morton Stadium last Saturday, June 24th. Two athletes from St Flannan’s College recorded tremendous victories in this prestigious event and will now go on to represent Ireland in the Schools International which will take place on July 15th in Ireland.
